Build Your Nonprofit Messaging Assistant: A Hands-On Custom GPT Workshop

In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, nonprofit, government, and community-based organization professionals will use OpenAl's no-code builder to create a personalized messaging assistant for their organization.

Participants will teach their GPT to understand their mission, audiences, voice, programs, messaging priorities, and review requirements.

Once built, this assistant can help generate first drafts of emails, social media posts, newsletter articles, impact stories, reports, campaign messages, and other organizational communications.

Instead of beginning with a blank page, participants will have a reliable starting point tailored to their organization.

Participants will build, test, and personalize their GPT during the workshop with step-by-step instruction and hands-on support.

Every participant will leave with a working first version of a customized Nonprofit Messaging Partner, a personal Al assistant that helps turn program information, impact stories, campaign details, and organizational priorities into clear, audience-appropriate draft messaging.

Learning Objectives:

  • Create a functional custom GPT tailored to their organization's communications.
  • Teach the GPT to reflect their organization's voice, audiences, programs, and messaging priorities.
  • Practice generating, reviewing, and refining draft communications.
  • Learn essential practices for accuracy, privacy, and responsible human review.

Participants Should Bring:

  • A laptop
  • Access to an active ChatGPT Business account
  • Digital copies of core organizational messaging materials*

*Suggested materials include the organization's mission, vision and values, boilerplate language, program descriptions, brand or voice guide, strategic priorities, case for support, annual report, approved communications examples, frequently used statistics, and any words, phrases, or claims the organization avoids.

No coding or technical experience is required.
