About the Position

The Charlottesville Police Foundation is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. The newly hired Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors in carrying out and refining the organization’s recently adopted new strategic plan, manage the day-to-day operations of the organization to include: managing the daily administration of the foundation and its activities and programs, maintaining strong relationships with the CPD command staff and department rank and file, partnering with the Board Chair and Executive Committee to manage the ongoing operations and activities of the Board of Directors, leading all aspects of the fundraising program, overseeing the administration of grants, and managing the marketing/outreach/social media efforts.

With a results-oriented and enthusiastic temperament, The Executive Director will aim to successfully achieve the organization’s goals to further the mission and vision of the Charlottesville Police Foundation. In addition to strong management and organizational skills, this individual must be a strategist and eager to work collaboratively with Board members, CPD personnel, volunteers, community members and have the ability to collaborate with and manage additional staff members as foundation resources permit future growth.

Qualifications

Our preferred candidate is an experienced, seasoned professional, a motivated leader of the highest integrity, and a team player. This individual seeks to actively partner with the Board of Directors to help our dynamic and inspirational Chief and police department build bridges to our community through a relational and community-led approach. This leader also brings a vision for organizational growth and community impact that fulfills the foundation’s mission and vision.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional
experience in a similar field of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills or success in fundraising (annual appeals, major gifts, grant writing), event planning and management.
• Proficiency in use of fundraising databases (preferably Bloomerang), donor research tools, Microsoft Office programs, Google platforms and digital communication and social media tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage staff as resources allow for growth.
• The ability to work well with constituents, stakeholders, and colleagues with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities.
• The ability to work well independently and collaboratively to successfully see projects through to completion.

Compensation

The compensation for the Executive Director position includes:
• Salary Range of $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience
• Health insurance is covered at 50% of the negotiated rate.
• Three weeks’ vacation, five paid holidays
