Description
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Charlottesville Free Clinic, a vibrant non-profit that fills a critical and unique role in our community. For 32 years, the Charlottesville Free Clinic has been an open door to free, high-quality healthcare for thousands of uninsured and underinsured adults in the greater Charlottesville area.
As the Annual Fund Manager, you will help develop a fundraising strategy, work with donors, and support a critical institution in our community. The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for growing the Charlottesville Free Clinic’s donor base, renewing and upgrading donor gifts and working with the CEO to strengthen relationships with current donors who give up to $9,999 annually.
This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the CEO.
Job Duties
• In collaboration with the CEO, write foundation and agency grant proposals, reports, and budgets
• Manage foundation grant and report calendar
• Create and implement strategies to achieve Annual Fund goals.
• Conceptualize and manage special event and fundraising opportunities.
• Schedule solicitation and cultivation mailings, manage specific vendor and contract employee relationships based on solicitation (design, printing, mailing, etc)
• Work with Marketing Associate to process in-house mailings (generate mailing lists, process letters and envelopes)
• Conceptualize and manage fundraising events (concert, clay shoot, others as they arise)
• Build relationships with constituents and personally solicit an assigned pool of prospects
as appropriate.
• Work with CEO to develop a list of reports to run weekly, bimonthly, monthly and quarterly.
• Develop dashboards.
• Source and maintain all patient stories. Proactively gather new patient stories from Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, and Pharmacy on quarterly basis.
• Conduct donor and foundation prospect research; vet with CEO. Set quarterly meetings to review research.
• Assist with Vittles pickup as appropriate.
Skills Required
● At least three years of relevant experience in a development-related role.
● Familiarity with Bloomerang or a similar donor database.
● A strong sense of fundraising ethics and practices, and respect for confidentiality of
donor information.
● Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic
approach.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
● Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.
