She embarked on a transformative journey to Chennai, India, where she investigated sustainable solutions to water scarcity, like the City of 1,000 Tanks project and The Rain Center located in the heart of Chennai. Her reporting shed light on innovative approaches that could benefit communities worldwide.

Sydney’s commitment to journalism continued as she joined The Daily Progress newspaper in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2022.
