The preferred hiring range for this position is between $25.51 – $33.16 an hour ($53,060.80 – $68,972.80 Annually).  Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a 40-hour regular full-time, exempt, which provides excellent benefits including paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, a Defined Contribution 401a plan, and gym membership reimbursement (up to $34 a month).

This position performs responsible professional work in the coordination and support of Young Adult Services across the JMRL service area. Oversees the implementation of Young Adult Services at the Central Library, which may include but is not limited to hiring, training, supervising, and maintaining regular communication with branch staff assigned to Young Adult services. Performs other duties as assigned. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed independently and under the general supervision of the Assistant Library Director.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • MLS Degree from an ALA accredited school.
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience working in a public library.
  • Requires an understanding of general reference sources and trends in young adult literature and programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with young adults preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
