UVA Young Writers Workshop Program Manager

Description

In partnership with the UVA School of Education and Human Development and the Equity Center, the Young Writers Workshop is seeking a Program Manager to oversee the development, delivery, and advancement of the YWW educational program. Among the responsibilities shared in collaboration with the YWW Director and Equity Center staff are the following:

• design and successful implementation of the summer program curriculum (e.g., theme, genre-specific workshops, elective content, evening & weekend activities).
• development of summer residential staff position job postings and collaboration on staff interviews and hiring decisions.
• direction of the student application process (design and posting of the online application, application reviews, acceptances, and registration).
• preparation of advance summer program staff orientation materials and design and delivery of summer program staff orientation training.
• training and supervision of staff in the use of the database tool, generation of database reports, and database management.
• direct supervision of employees, including training, coaching, and providing feedback and recognition as appropriate to individual role.
• tracking of program evaluations for future program improvement.
• management of outreach and promotional communications, including program website, social media platforms, and alumni newsletters.
• maintenance of website functionality and updates, as well as leading initiatives in design and revision.
