Description

This role will include a combination of both operations and marketing. As the Student Experience and Growth Manager, you’ll work a lot with our students to build out a membership structure that spans in-person and online. You’ll be a key player in helping our 501c3 expand our membership past UVA and teach students across the country. You’ll also be the go-to person for managing our educational experiences. That includes everything from overseeing our popular semester-long Skills Courses, to preparing our Launch instructors to knock things out of the park during summer training, and much more. Finally, you’ll also assist our team with marketing and expansion efforts (both at UVA and other universities). This will include everything from emailing professors, social media management, building strong relationships with key student organizations, etc. We’re looking for an organized generalist who is passionate about working with students and expanding access to tech skill education.

Job Duties

  • Improving and iterating on our semester skills courses experience (both online and in-person)
  • Redefining and owning all aspects of Forge community
  • Assisting our marketing team with multi-school growth efforts
  • Assisting COO with Launch student management when needed (resume edits, training sessions, etc)

Skills Required

(We’re looking for about 85% of these. Not having some of these shouldn’t be a reason not to apply.)

  • We are looking for a strong generalist with experience implementing business operations and processes, who can break down tough problems and help our nonprofit scale
  • You should be comfortable with ambiguity and 80/20 thinking to quickly tease through complexity and bring structure to a fast moving organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a huge bonus
