The Chris Long Foundation is looking for a driven social media and marketing manager with experience and a passion for storytelling, strategy, writing and content creation. We are seeking individuals who are highly organized, self-starters willing to go the extra mile, accountable, innovative and creative. We are looking for a team player that is passionate about philanthropy and marketing. That passion comes through as he/she engages with supporters daily across all digital and social platforms.

 

Position Summary:

The role of The Chris Long Foundation’s Social Media and Marketing Manager is to manage the organization’s public presence. The Social Media and Marketing Manager will be responsible for the management of all of the Foundation’s social media platforms, content creation, external marketing strategy, and creating meaningful engagement with our fanbases and celebrity ambassadors. The goal is to achieve superior supporter engagement and intimacy, website traffic, and grow our online community, resulting in increased fundraising revenue by strategically exploiting all aspects of digital marketing.

Job Duties

Marketing:

  • Develop and implement the digital marketing strategy – including campaigns, social media, events and programs that support our mission to engage fans and raise funds and awareness
  • Responsible for writing and creating content to be used across the organization including for the website, blog posts and marketing collateral
  • Manage marketing budget, including photography and videography
  • Work with marketing agency to maintain and create the most effective user experience on both websites with existing content and new content
  • Develop celebrity engagement strategies and supporting materials
  • Assist in creation of newsletters
  • Assist with pitching our stories of impact to media and other potential partners
  • Responsible for development of brand awareness and online reputation
  • Manage all digital content storage and filing

Social media:

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy to improve social media reputation and recognition.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily, relevant, original, high-quality content (original text, images, graphics, and video) to all applicable social media outlets that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Manage the contracting and sourcing of graphic design needs
  • Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends and their potential impact on the Foundation’s brand
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics as requested
  • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts

Administration:

  • Use research to develop, implement and measure strategies
  • Prepare reports as requested to update internal staff on usage statistics, and continuous monitoring and coverage of all sites
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, New Media, or applicable field.
  • 4+ Years of marketing experience with proven track record of developing and managing marketing strategies.
  • 3+ Years of social media experience on all major social media platforms – LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google+, YouTube, WordPress, etc.
  • Skilled writer with strong copywriting skills
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite and/or ability to create timely visual content preferred (please include work samples if applicable)
  • Fully entrenched in social media culture and understand the fine line of managing a professional, but effective social media presence
  • Ability to alter delivery method to meet the needs of the audience being targeted, while maintaining a consistent message
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization/search engine marketing (SEO/SEM) integration preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines on multiple projects
  • Possesses strategic vision in conjunction with tactical planning. Develop short- and long-term plans with defined goals, roles, priorities, and timelines
  • Willingness to work during nonstandard business hours
