Description
PACEM is a low-barrier emergency shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness. At PACEM, we embrace Empathy, Integrity, Inclusivity, Collaboration, Empowerment, and Respect. As a staff, we bring these elements to our shelter and ask for the same from our guests and community partners. We are committed to paying a living wage.
We are excited to launch a new venture at 304 Premier Circle: 50 individual rooms (with the potential for 100+) at a converted motel. For this project PACEM is hiring for several FTE positions: Shelter Monitors and Shelter Directors.
Shelter Monitors provide essential 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of the shelter. Shelter Monitors work under the supervision of a Shelter Director and in close cooperation with PACEM guests, and other PACEM staff. This position is responsible for the welfare, safety and comfort, as well as daily support to the shelter guests. Effective Shelter Monitors imbue compassion, empathy and a genuine desire to help others. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to self-manage in stressful situations. Training in shelter operations, trauma-informed care, inclusion and equity, and other topics will be required periodically for all staff.
To apply for one of our positions, include a cover letter, resume, and an overview of your shift availability. We will ask for professional references. Interviews may be conducted in person or via Zoom or equivalent.
