In this role you'll serve as the primary global HR Manager and talent acquisition lead for UL’s Not-for-Profit.
By providing global HR support for UL’s quickly growing Not-for-Profit group you'll be responsible for HR guidance and leadership across all levels of the organization including the leadership team. The organization will look to you to develop a deep understanding of HR practices to support a growing international research organization. You'll partner with this team to develop a comprehensive HR strategy supporting talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and employee development. This role requires a detailed knowledge of advanced HR concepts to support key business strategies. You'll have the chance to work with global HR colleagues business leaders to provide responsive approaches and drive adoption of HR initiatives globally. We'll also ask you to coach and mentor more junior team members with the opportunity to grow a team of HR professionals over time.
Job Duties
- Proactively consults and guides leadership on HR matters within the grp. Serves as primary point of contact for leadership globally.
- Responsible for the Not-for-profit talent acquisition strategy and is the lead person to acquire talent at all career levels for this group.
- Deep HR Subject Matter expert. Has global experience and works closely with HR and business teams around the world.
- Leads development of talent acquisition pipeline channels, such as universities and research institutions.
- Collaborates with corporate and other HR teams to implement division/function strategies.
- Partners will all global and local stakeholders for all Mergers and Acquisitions from prior to due diligence through integration.
- Conducts all global talent related activities including talent reviews, compensation planning, training assessments, coaching, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- University Degree (Equivalent to U.S. Bachelor’s degree) in Human Resources Administration, Training, Organizational Development, or related field. An advanced degree is preferred as is a professional HR certification.
- Generally, 12+ years HR experience, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, or related Human Resource Service function (Staffing, Sourcing, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Leadership and Management Development).
- Has worked in HR/Talent Acquisition at a University or major Research Institution.
- Requires the ability to be highly collaborative and work with both regional and global teams both within and outside of the HR function.
- Strong knowledge to synthesize, analyze and bringing data to life to empower better decision making.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are key to success, including strong listening, negotiation, persuasion and facilitation skills with all levels of leadership and employees.
- Strong results orientation, adaptability/flexibility, and willingness to express opinions and challenge status quo, in a respectful manner, and in the attempt to find win/win solutions.
- Strong business skills and ability to think critically and strategically – analyze, synthesize and evaluate information to help the business grow and succeed.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to consistently successfully deliver results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor law (global knowledge preferred) as well as market knowledge in respect to recruitment, compensation, etc.
- Solid knowledge of practices including assessment, workforce planning, ongoing performance management and feedback principles and approaches, organization development/design and training and development including supervisory and management development.
- Ability to understand and adapt to different cultures.
- Previous experience as a successful people leader highly desirable.
- Intermediate to high level Excel and PowerPoint skills is highly beneficial to be successful.
