Description
The Monroe Institute (TMI) is accepting resumes for the position of Senior Financial Controller (SFC). The SFC oversees the financial management of TMI, including fiscal operations, risk management, as well as equipment and physical plant procurement. The SFC creates and maintains budgets and government reporting and prepares financial reports for TMI’s management and its Board of Directors. The SFC is an integral member of the senior management team and supports and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: preparing monthly fiscal reports; ensuring adequate insurance coverage is up to date; overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing functions; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local taxing authorities; developing the annual operating budget for TMI and preparing budgets for grant applications; providing oversight of TMI’s capital assets; ensuring compliance with procurement policies; and completing other assignments as assigned by the President/Executive Director.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; three or more years of experience in a fiscal-management-related position; willingness to be bonded and/or have a criminal background check; experience in a foundation or a not-for-profit entity preferred; experience with grant reporting standards preferred; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; skill in the use of computer technology such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
