CIMA Consulting is a small firm in Charlottesville, VA providing clients with strategic insight and support through a range of deliverables. Today we are a team of five working on behalf of organizations across the country. All our work furthers clients’ organizational capacity via fundraising, business development, and organizational design. Our clients are socially conscious organizations seeking a thoughtful, agile, results-oriented firm to assist them in achieving their mission.
As CIMA grows, we are seeking a part-time Research Consultant to serve two or more of our current clients. Research Consultants will work 20-30 hours per week on a contract basis to support CIMA’s client-facing teams.

Job Duties
Specific tasks include:
- Providing extensive research support for client funding opportunities through online research, phone and email follow-up
- Maintaining internal tracking systems for funding opportunities, reporting requirements, and relationship management strategies
- Assisting teams in meeting goals through careful tracking of deadlines and progress
The Research Consultant will take on additional projects as needed, such as:
- Researching and writing compelling narratives for letters of inquiry, proposals, and other required collateral
- Developing projects to evaluate data for clients and for CIMA
- Coordinating among CIMA client teams to establish and document best practices for project management

The right candidate is:

Candidates should have the following specific skills or qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with at least two years of work experience
- Strong recommendations from previous employers
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-moving, intellectual environment
Work Schedule
Flexible, prefer 1-2 days in office with team.
