Description

The Arc is seeking an entry level Recruiter who shares our excitement and passion for ensuring the greatest quality of life possible for our fellow community members with developmental disabilities. The ideal recruiter will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the responsibilities of marketing the agency as an employer of choice through advertising, fully leveraging social media platforms and managing/tracking activity- ultimately towards the end of filling open positions. May also assist in conducting interviews. The successful recruiter will collaborate with senior management to proactively adapt and implement our recruiting strategy and identify future hiring needs. Must be very capable and enthusiastic about the use of various media such as on-line and print advertising, social media platforms and further developing and fostering community resources/relationships and networks.

Job Duties

JOB DUTIES

  • Design and implement overall recruiting strategy
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards/newspapers/colleges, etc.
  • Source and recruit candidates by using social media platforms
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications
  • May conduct initial screening interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates.
  • Assess applicants skills, abilities, experience and aptitudes
  • Apply and monitor HR recruiting best practices
  • Build-out/implement web-based recruitment tools/modules (i.e. ADP)
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the Deputy Executive Director, Operations
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Promote the organization as an employer of choice

Skills Required

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ideally formal work experience as a recruiter (either as an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter.)
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews.
  • Experience or familiarity with various selection processes (video interviewing, phone and in-person interviewing, reference checking, etc)
  • Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems and Candidate Management Systems.
  • Technical aptitude for working with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making skills

 

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of:  The ideal Recruiter holds a recruiting/HR background combined with work experience in screening, interviewing and assessing candidates. Human resources practices and procedures, focused towards recruitment and marketing. Ideally a working knowledge of Licensing and DMAS regulations of Medicaid Waiver programs, especially those which pertain to the required training of direct service delivery personnel. A firm understanding of the agency mission, best practices and the needs of the people we support to determine the best resources and staffing strategies.

Skills:   Strong organizational skills, skills in the development and fostering of talent pipelines, applicant tracking and the implementation of software tools/on-line platforms to further develop our pipeline of candidates. Strong knowledge of and comfort with the utilization of social media for promotion of opportunities. Good oral and written communication skills, and solid proficiency with computers.

Ability:  To interact well with candidates and staff, as well as outside agencies and resources, and to seek out and develop productive relationships with community resources.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time 30 hour per week position and, as such, we’re pleased to offer our full slate of benefits. Working hours will occur during the typical Monday through Friday work week. There may be, however, very occasional times during which the recruiter may have to work an evening or weekend day (i.e. external events such as job fairs, etc.)

Additional Info

Ideally a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and experience. Ideally one to two years of experience in recruiting.
