Description
Rapid Re-housing (RRH) is a primary solution for ending homelessness that provides short-term rental assistance and services to Clients. As the Rapid Re-housing Advocate, you will serve as an ally and guide for Clients on their paths towards exiting homelessness. You will establish rapport and trust with Clients, providing support in setting and achieving their self-determined goals. You will help clients identify and apply for housing options as well as build skills to help them maintain housing and to eventually successfully transition out of financial support from The Haven. You will bring organization and time management skills to the position, and be comfortable learning new computer software. You will demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to the values of trauma-informed care and principles of the Housing First model, as well as embody the ideal of radical hospitality for all.

Skills Required
-Client advocacy experience
-Compassion for all people, especially those in crisis
– Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and feedback to Clients and colleagues
-Understanding of personal/professional boundaries and self-care practices and ability to consistently implement them
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to improvise and adapt to changing circumstances
-Comfortable with computers and able to learn new software programs
-Experience with online databases
-Comfort using all Google Workspace applications
-Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and organized
-Access to reliable transportation (whether self-owned or comfort using public transportation or ride sharing services)
