Programs Intern

The Intern will be an integral member of the Programs Team, and will take part in Programs Team and Staff Meetings when possible. They will learn general business protocol, professional communications, and will apply their skills in research, data manipulation and analysis, and writing, as well as the use of various software applications.

In addition, they will learn how to apply good business practices, the importance of planning, and how to work in a professional environment. Beyond day-to-day tasks, the Programs Intern will have opportunities to work on a variety of projects, depending on their skill level and ability.

By participating in many of the organization’s activities, the intern will learn about specific area nonprofit organizations, the community’s concerns and needs, and the developing characteristics of the national nonprofit sector.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities

The intern’s duties will include supporting the Programs Manager in:

  • Preparing for weekly trainings (sending reminder emails, printing materials, arranging tables and chairs)
  • Entering evaluation data
  • Preparing an evaluation report (manipulating data, creating graphs and tables, analyzing data, and writing)
  • Creating and editing web pages and forms in WordPress
  • Marketing for CNE cohort programs and Advanced Trainings (ex. Board Academy, Management Academy, Finance Academy, Emerging Leaders Circle, etc.)

Other duties may include:

  • Providing orientation sessions to Foundation Directory Online
  • Research and technical assistance
  • Supporting CNE staff on various projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Transportation

  • The intern will be responsible for arriving at the CNE office on time for all scheduled shifts
  • No transportation or transportations subsidies will be provided

Work Schedule

Schedule

Normal business hours are 9 am to 5 pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9 am to 4 pm on Fridays.  Intern and Supervisor will establish a mutually acceptable, required interning schedule within normal business hours. Schedule is flexible and can be changed with supervisor’s prior permission.
