The preferred hiring range for this position is between $16.97 and $24.85 an hour ($35,297.60 to $51,688.00 Annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. - The City of Charlottesville manages its own retirement system and does not participate in VRS, however the City has a Portability Agreement with VRS. There are certain provisions that must be met and the portability request must be executed within 18 months of vesting in the City’s Plan. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/GED. (If no diploma or GED, minimally must completed education through tenth grade with four (4) years of highly relevant work experience the automotive, truck or specialized motorized equipment field directly related to the purchase, stockage, issue, sales and/or accountability for parts and supplies.)

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive, truck or specialized motorized equipment field directly related to the purchase, stockage, issue, sales and/or accountability for parts and supplies.

- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical.
