POSITION SUMMARY
The Partner Relationship Coordinator is responsible for supporting and growing BoardSource’s network of corporate and federated nonprofit relationships. This position reports to the Director of Corporate & Federated Partnerships and is focused on supporting effective revenue growth from corporations and federated nonprofits through expanding both the number and size of revenue-generating partnerships. This includes supporting the Director’s portfolio of current and potential partners (a combined ~ $1M budget). Much of the Partner Relationship Coordinator’s work will focus on the administrative and infrastructure work needed to keep BoardSource’s database of partner information current, which will help drive the strategy, efficacy, and external work of the Director. The position has the opportunity to grow into an active fundraising role for individuals who demonstrate growing sophistication in relationship management and prospect research.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
BoardSource is a globally recognized nonprofit focused on strengthening nonprofit leadership at the highest level — the board of directors. With more than three decades of experience, BoardSource is at the forefront of nonprofit board leadership, research, and support. BoardSource provides leaders with an extensive range of tools, resources, and research data to increase board effectiveness, strengthen organizational impact, and serve as the national voice for inspired and effective board leadership.

Over the years, BoardSource has transformed itself from an organization primarily focused on meeting the technical support needs of individual boards to a more complex and influential organization that marries technical support for boards with a strong leadership voice advocating for necessary change in social sector board leadership, particularly to center equity and shift power toward the communities nonprofits serve. In addition to an expansion of its signature research study, “Leading with Intent,” BoardSource has also prioritized initiatives to address:

• The urgent need for more diverse nonprofit boards that are committed to doing their work in a way that helps advance equity and justice;
• The importance of understanding and engaging in public policy issues that impact or impede an organization’s ability to fulfill its mission, serve its community, or otherwise do its mission-driven work; and
• The opportunity to structure organizations for greater resilience and impact through strategic alliances and mergers.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, & EQUITY
In the leadership BoardSource provides to nonprofit organizations across the social sector, we work to spark new awareness about why a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity is essential within nonprofit organizations, as well as provide practical support and guidance about how to create positive change. This work flows from our belief that a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity is essential to realizing our vision of a world where every social sector organization has the leadership it needs to fulfill its mission and advance the public good. Given this commitment and effort, we work to ensure that our own team is diverse and inclusive, and that the entire team – regardless of background or identity – feels empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. Our work is enriched by the lived experiences of our team members, and there is no replacement for lived experience when working on issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity. We are eager to welcome future team members who share our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity; we also strongly encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply.
