Description

Provides advocacy for residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and similar adult care facilities as well as recipients of “in-home” services. Works to resolve problems of individual residents and bring about changes at the local, state and national levels that will improve residents’ care and quality of life. Increases the capacity of the Ombudsmen program through the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.

Skills Required

Preferred requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with experience in human services. Experience in program management, supervision, and volunteer management /programming is highly desirable. Successful completion of certification as a Long Term Care Ombudsman must occur within three months of hire. Requires knowledge of aging and disability issues, conflict resolution, excellent oral and written communication, training/presentation and teambuilding skills.
