The office assistant will:

  • answer phone calls from potential pantry visitors and donors;
  • register and update customer records;
  • develop customer appointment/delivery lists and record completed pickups;
  • log received donations;
  • generate paper and email gift acknowledgment letters;
  • prepare, send, and track donor tax credit paperwork;
  • file fundraising paperwork;
  • support the Loaves & Fishes board and committees;
  • research and interview volunteers and partners to develop blog content;
  • manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter); and
  • support the Executive Director and the organization as needed.

Skills Required

At least one year of office assistant experience preferred.

  • excellent verbal and written English language communication skills
  • ability to communicate in Spanish or another language spoken by Loaves & Fishes’ visitors (Dari, Pashto, Arabic) desired
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work successfully on own and in a small team, and to learn new skills as assigned
  • proficient in use of email, Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and social media accounts; Link2Feed training provided

Work Schedule

Hours 30 hours/week, M-F (flexible schedule)
