Nursery Associate

Description

Monticello seeks a Nursery Associate to work at the Center for Historic Plants, located at Tufton Farm. Qualified candidates will have knowledge of cultural requirements for a wide range of plant species and experience with horticultural techniques including plant propagation, transplanting and watering of nursery stock.  Maintenance of our display gardens, including weeding, mowing, and using power equipment is required. Working outside in all weather conditions, transporting nursery stock, and lifting upwards of 50 lbs. are essential functions of this position.  Applicant must have flexibility in their schedule, to include some weekend work, including watering nursery plants and participating in public sales. A background in nursery sales, strong communication abilities and a passion for plants are all desirable qualities in an applicant.
