Emerging nonprofit looking for a remote bookkeeper to assist with Quickbooks/HR needs. We estimate this work should take no more than 10 hours a month for a proficient nonprofit bookkeeper. This position is contract, remote, and flexible. Bookkeeping is detailed work, but at the end of the day our team are mission driven people who enjoy working together and serving others. Job Duties
Responsibilities:
-Create company database on Quickbooks
-Review and update chart of accounts
-Enter beginning general ledger balances for multiple funds and projects
-Develop data transfer process (PayPal, Stripe and Squarespace)
-Record weekly deposits/donations from respective funding sources, including split transactions and Project/Fund record keeping
-Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system for various grants, donations, funds , projects,
-Performs bookkeeping including bank deposits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly closeouts, yearly closeouts, and appropriate monthly and quarterly reporting
– YTD Accurate Balance and Income Statement and Statement of Activities
– 1099NEC preparing and filing, 990 preparing and filing.
– ** Other responsibilities as agreed upon.
Skills Required
Experience:
-3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with a nonprofit
-Bank account reconcilement, split transactions, multiple classes and funds
-QuickBooks certification preferred
-Certified CPA preferred.
-Nonprofit bookkeeper
-Detail oriented and proactive self starter
