Description
As a nonprofit after-school program founded in 1998, the Music Resource Center (MRC) provides unlimited voice, instrument, and dance lessons, practice space, mentorship, access to instruments and equipment, performance opportunities, summer camps, and recording studio time to 6th – 12th grade students.
The MRC is currently in the process of selling its current property and procuring a new, more suitable location that better accommodates its operational requirements and enhances accessibility for students within the community. To facilitate this transition, the MRC is embarking on a capital campaign.
In addition to this work we are looking for the person in this position to update our website weekly with upcoming programming and events. All copy and design will be provided.
Job Duties
– Work with a highly-collaborative team to brainstorm ideas to engage supporters in the Music Resource Center’s capital campaign and overall fundraising, focused on acquiring a new facility and establishing an endowment.
– Contributing to the development and composition of Marketing and Communication (MarCom) materials for the campaign and overall fundraising
– Build a suite of templates for MRC board and planning committee to access
– Assist in creating a case for support, campaign brochure, pledge card, and other materials
– Create content for social media accounts through posting, data analysis, and communicating with constituents as it relates to capital campaign and overall fundraising
– Assist in handling inbound organizational communication related to the capital campaign and overall fundraising
– Assist in planning and organizing fundraising events related to the campaign and overall fundraising
Skills Required
– interest in learning about the fundraising side of a non-profit, experience a plus
– experience with Google Workspace
– strong organizational and listening skills, strong writing skills
– ability to work independently
– willingness to accept a variety of tasks
– positive attitude.
– experience working in WordPress a plus
Work Schedule
Much of this job can be done remotely but must be able to be in the center and least 1 day per week M-F between 11am-7pm.
Approx. 8-10 hours a week
