Overview
LEAP is seeking a creative communicator who is eager to use their skills and experience to bring LEAP’s mission to life. Reporting to the Co-Executive Directors, the Marketing and Outreach Manager will be responsible for taking ownership of all external communication
Job Duties
This position’s primary role will be to manage marketing, outreach, and public relations for all LEAP programs. Specifically, this position will:
-Develop and manage LEAP’s ongoing marketing plans
-Represent LEAP at festivals, community forums, neighborhood meetings, etc.
-Build and promote the LEAP brand
-Build strategic partnerships and cross-promotions with area partner organization
-Track, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of LEAP’s marketing efforts
-Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print, electronic, and multimedia collateral including, but not limited to advertisements, brochures, fact sheets, case studies, online content (website, newsletters), annual report, photos, and video
-Prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed
-Develop and execute a social media strategy that enhances online communities
-Conduct ongoing media outreach with media advisories, press releases, opinion editorials; cultivate and manage working relationships with reporters at the local and regional levels
-Maintain and update LEAP’s web properties (WordPress)
-Organize events, webinars, and other relevant activities
Skills Required
Key Qualifications:
-Ability to conceptualize, design, implement, evaluate, and evolve strategic marketing campaigns with minimal oversight
-Act as the public spokesperson for LEAP
-Experience working with diverse partners and important stakeholders to promote and sell LEAP’s programs
-Self-directed, energetic, effective communicator
-Excellent organization and time management skills
-Creative problem-solver
-Graphic design and web development skills are preferred
-WordPress skills preferred
-Passion for energy efficiency and sustainability
-Ability to attend outreach events outside of normal business hours or weekends, when needed
Education:
-Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in a related field such as communications, marketing, and/or community organizing
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm
Additional Info
Work Experience:
-3+ years experience in marketing and/or outreach field.
-Previous experience with nonprofit organizations and/or energy efficiency is a plus.
-Experience within the Charlottesville/Albemarle County community preferred
Pay and Compensation
-Full-time position located in Charlottesville, VA (hybrid work is possible)
-Salary is $55,000
-15 days of Paid Time Off, along with 11 paid holidays
-“Gold” Anthem Health insurance (90% of employee’s premium paid by LEAP). Also an employee paid HSA is available
