The Focused Ultrasound Foundation, a medical research, education and patient advocacy organization in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a full time IT Manager who will lead development and implementation of its IT strategy, manage and maintain all software and hardware systems, and lead the technical support and education of Foundation staff.

Job Duties

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Foundation’s strategic and tactical goals in order to create and maintain a technology roadmap for the organization that drives the IT operational plans.
• Manage IT operations infrastructure including software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, AV, phones, mobile devices, and office equipment.
• Review the performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements. Research and evaluate new technologies as enhancements or upgrades to existing IT infrastructure.
• Build relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. Oversee procurement by preparing proposals for expenditure approval and managing services/products to ensure requirements and deadlines are met.
• Develop policies and procedures, including a business continuity plan.
• Manage security of network, systems, and enterprise information.
• Support website design and maintenance.
• Lead overall planning, management, and execution of IT and AV needs for Foundation’s biennial International Symposium.
• Collaborate with Business Systems Analyst in the selection and use of databases, including Salesforce.
• Manage and mentor the IT Specialist while working in a collaborative fashion.
• Share the workload of day-to-day responsibilities of the two-person IT team.
• Develop department budget and manage expenditures.
• Ensure selection and implementation of system to maintain IT and user documentation; contribute to creation of materials.
• Work in tandem with IT representatives of the Foundation’s external partners to create and manage systems in support of joint ventures.
