Building Goodness Foundation is seeking an International Projects Manager.

Job Title: International Projects Manager

Position Location: Charlottesville, VA

Supervises: Field managers, volunteer project managers

Reports to: Executive Director

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt, occasional nights and weekends

The Building Goodness Foundation (BGF) International Projects Manager provides leadership and oversight for BGF’s international design and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree
  • Experience in international development
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry

Job Duties

Responsibilities

The International Projects Manager is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that projects advance BGF’s mission, vision, and core values
  • Facilitating and managing all preconstruction efforts of international projects. This includes overseeing volunteer architectural and engineering design work.
  • With VPMs and project teams, preparing construction cost estimates
  • Communicating with international NGO Partners
  • Preparing monthly expense reports and invoices
  • Hiring and managing Field Managers
  • With VPMs, ensuring that Field Managers have timely and adequate support
  • Ensuring that volunteers are provided with a meaningful cultural and jobsite experience
  • Purchasing materials and equipment, managing logistics for international job sites
  • Construction document management
  • With Local Projects Manager, staffing the BGF Projects Committee
  • With the Executive Director, identifying prospective partner organizations and projects
  • Preparing monthly report for Projects Committee
  • Shepherding partners through the pre-selection and pre-construction processes
  • Creating a user’s manual for all completed projects
  • Engaging the construction industry and suppliers in support of BGF’s mission
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Directo

  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Ability to work effectively with project partners and donors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & G Suite
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Optimistic and resilient personality
  • Sense of humor
  • Limited proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed

Work Schedule

Full time. M-F 9-5. Occasional evening and weekend work.
