Overview
As we navigate a period of transition, we are seeking an Interim Office Manager to help ensure our operations run smoothly and support our mission-driven team through March 2025. This role involves managing office operations, supporting staff, and ensuring that our office environment is conducive to productivity and collaboration. The ideal candidate will be an efficient, organized, and adaptable professional with a passion for nonprofit work and strong administrative and communication skills.
Essential Functions
Office Management: Oversee daily office operations and maintain a productive work environment. Manage office supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring timely replenishment and maintenance.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative and human resources support to the executive director and other staff members including scheduling meetings, managing internal and external communications, drafting documents and correspondences, assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of new employees and volunteers, maintaining records and files, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Financial Administration: Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks such as processing invoices, handling petty cash, preparing deposits, and maintaining financial and donor records under the supervision of the executive director.
Facilities Management: Coordinate with service providers for maintenance, repairs, and other services. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of organizational events, meetings and fundraisers. Activities may involve logistical arrangements, communications and marketing, and other activities as needed.
Core Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Proven experience as an office manager, administrative assistant, or similar role.
-Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle an organization’s most sensitive and confidential information.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, etc.).
-Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
-Commitment to the mission and values of Project GROWS.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
Familiarity with Bloomerang or similar donor database management system.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and experience with financial management tasks.
Other Requirements
-Because we are located in an area without access to reliable public transportation, we recommend that applicants with access to a vehicle apply. In addition, a valid driver’s license is required to fulfill job duties as is a clean driving record, for insurance purposes.

-Along with all other members of the Project GROWS team, the Office Manager may occasionally be required (with advance notice) to work weekend and evening hours.
Compensation: This is a part-time, 20-hour per week, non-exempt position. This position is required to work on-site at our office location and during regular business hours. We are looking for a candidate who can make a six-month commitment from October 2024 through March 2025, with the potential to continue based on mutual fit and the needs of the organization. Pay is $18-20 per hour, depending on experience.
