Description

The Alliance for Interfaith Ministries (AIM) has an immediate need for a part-time intake worker.  The primary purpose of AIM is to provide emergency assistance to families who are threatened with homelessness, loss of power or fuel, or other temporary financial emergencies.

Duties of the intake worker include interviewing clients, determining eligibility for financial assistance, scheduling appointments, researching local resources and referring clients to local agencies, and working cooperatively with the Executive Director on special projects. The position is 20 hours per week with flexibility in scheduling hours.

Skills and qualifications include:

  • Compassion for the well-being of clients while setting boundaries as needed
  • High level of honesty, integrity, discretion and moral character
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with phone, computer, and in-person interactions
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred
  • Two to three years experience in social work/human services and direct contact with the public.
