People Places, a 40+ year 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is looking for a difference-maker to join our team! This is an immediate opening. We are hiring an Information Technology (“IT”) Manager who will ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. Job Duties

Duties include:

  • Planning, coordinating, directing, and designing IT-related activities of the organization
  • Working closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
  • Defining and implementing IT policies, procedures and best practices
  • Identifying, procuring, installing, and maintaining agency server, network, software, telephones and related hardware needed to provide an internal information system
  • Creating and delivering IT-related training to agency staff
  • Diagnosing and fixing problems with the network and with individual machines
  • User account and group policy management

Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school degree or equivalent

  • A thorough understanding of the systems used by People Places with experience in GSuite, Linux Server and Desktop administration, Windows Server and Desktop administration, ChromeOS, Android and iOS

  • At least three years experience setting up and maintaining information system(s) for a business or businesses

  • The ability to install and maintain new equipment and diagnose and correct routine e-problems that arise with the network, servers, telephones, PCs and the staff who use them

  • The ability to communicate clearly and with patience in assisting staff with problems and questions

 

Work Schedule

8:30AM-4:30PM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced study in the areas of networking, server administration, VoIP/SIP, time management and communication

The position is based in Staunton, VA; however, traveling is required in this role to serve People Places locations in Staunton, Charlottesville, and Harrisonburg. Reliable transportation is required.
