Description
Reporting directly to the CFO, this position manages a variety of HR initiates, including benefits administration, talent management, employee transitions, policy development and IT support, aimed at strengthening organizational systems and frameworks that drive talent acquisition, retention, culture, and employee development. The HR Manager maintains and refines employee standards and procedures, using existing HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes, and ensures compliance with HR regulations. The HR Manager maintains and enhances employee benefits programs, ensuring employees understand their benefits and are provided the tools to take full advantage of their benefits.

Job Duties
BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION
• Maintain all UWGC benefits, including: health insurance, 403b retirement, life and disability insurance, gym membership, and cell phone stipend
• Serve as the main point of contact for employees with questions about benefits and maintain benefit resource pages
• Serve as the main point of contact for benefit vendors
• Support the CFO with benefits selections and open enrollment
• Provide bi-weekly and monthly premium charge reports to CFO for payroll, and submit payments to benefit vendors
• Ensure benefits programs are in compliance with legal and other requirements
• Promote benefits programs to prospective and current employees
• Complete year-end benefits reporting for Engage PEO
• Maintain and promote Employee Incentive Plan
TALENT MANAGEMENT
• Administer the annual Performance Review process and provide support managers throughout the process
• Maintain Employee Roster, including tracking milestones and coordinating related services
• Administer the bi-annual Staff Climate Survey
• Develop and manage the Professional Development Plan
• Manage personnel time allocations, including coordinating updates for budget and forecasting
• Complete the quarterly time study process for all federally funded staff
• Maintain office seating arrangements and staff schedules
• Send regular cascading messages to staff
• Complete employment verification and other employment documentation
EMPLOYEE TRANSITIONS
• Maintain and update all job descriptions
• Post all job notices and assist managers with the recruitment process
• Manage the process for onboarding new employees, in coordination with the CoS and managers
• Manage the process for offboarding separated employees, in coordination with the CoS and managers
POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND UPDATES
• Regularly review employment related policies for completeness and compliance, including: Personnel Handbook, Code of Ethics, Nondiscrimination, and Communications
• Disseminate policy updates to staff, securing acknowledgements and provide training as needed
• Update Engage PEO with any policy revisions affecting onboarding
Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of human resource management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of benefits packages and government regulations.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize conflicting needs and handle matters expeditiously and proactively
• Ability to work without close supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Work Schedule
This position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. The schedule is in-office Tuesday, remote M/W/Th/F; 8:30am-5pm with a one-hour lunch break.
