Description
The Housing Program Coordinator will provide clinical oversight for the entire Housing Program staff and will be responsible for the administration of a program budget of over $600,00o. In addition, the Coordinator will administer the Rapid Re-Housing program and provide Housing Navigation.
Job Duties
Housing Program Coordination:
Provide oversight for entire Housing Program staff through:
- regular review of client files in preparation for annual audit
- regular review of Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for timely and accurate reporting
- bi-monthly supervision meetings to ensure health and wellbeing of program staff
- facilitation of Housing Program meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month
- supervise Coordinated Access/Intake
- cultivate supportive and constructive work environment among program staff
- revise Housing Program Manual (as needed)
1.) Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) Administration:
- Using written guidelines from Housing Program Manual, administer state RRH funds on behalf of the continuum of care
- Work together with Housing Stabilization Case Managers to create plans for stability
- Implement a Critical Time Intervention (CTI) model
- Work together with Intake Coordinator to determine eligibility and funding allocation
- Fiscal planning and oversight of the RRH budget
2.) Housing Navigation:
Overall purpose –
To connect people experiencing homelessness with permanent housing solutions, addressing individual and structural barriers to housing in the process.
Specific duties –
- Identify appropriate permanent housing options for people experiencing homelessness, including public housing authorities, federal vouchers, shelter + care, affordable housing and market rate resources
- Accept referrals from coordinated assessment system and other partners within the Continuum of Care (CoC)
- Assist clients with housing applications and other paperwork
- Survey rental market and maintain list of affordable housing options
- Advocate for clients with prospective landlords
- Prepare client related reports including outcomes, successes, and challenges
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Make referrals to Community Case Review for development and maintenance of housing stabilization plans
- Mediate disputes between landlords and clients
- Attend collaborative, community, and continuum of care meetings
- Network with housing agencies and organizations to expand affordable housing options within the fair market arena
- Provide public education on RRH and housing first approaches
Skills Required
- Case management supervision experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Specifically, experience with at-risk populations
- Familiarity with Critical Time Intervention (CTI) case management model
- Social Work licensure encouraged but not required
- Experience with administering housing subsidies
- Experience working within a homeless system of care
- Specifically, experience with Housing First approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with conflict resolution
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Occasional attendance at special events in the evening and on weekends
