Description

Piedmont Housing Alliance is seeking a Housing Counselor to join our award-winning team.  Piedmont Housing Alliance is a successful and innovative non-profit organization with a mission to create affordable housing opportunities and foster community through education, lending, and equitable development. Our Housing Counselors work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their goals for housing stability and financial opportunity with money management, credit, rental, home ownership, and foreclosure counseling. Housing Counselors also offer financial education and homebuyer education classes.  In addition, Housing Counselors administer our down payment assistance loan funds for eligible homebuyers.

Skills Required

The ideal candidate has an understanding of personal finance, rental and home purchase processes, and mortgage financing. HUD certification, experience or training in housing counseling is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal, presentation, and technology skills. Bachelors’ degree or equivalent and minimum of two years of related experience, and/or similar combination of education and experience.
