Homeowner Services and Family Relations Chairperson

Greene County Habitat for Humanity is a chapter of the Greater Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity. We are seeking a volunteer to help us with Homeowner Services and Family Relations.

This person will oversee the policies, procedures, outreach, and all aspects of homeowner relationships including selection and relationship building. Monitor and manage the progress of approved prospective homeowners and oversee sweat equity requirements and education schedules. Maintains homeowner information in a client database. May originate mortgages and coordinate closings. Leads the other Selection Committee volunteers. We estimate the time needed for this volunteer role is approximately 2 hours per week.

Chair, Greene County Habitat for Humanity Steering Committee

Skills Required

• Experience or desire to gain necessary knowledge in lending, processing and preparation of mortgage origination documents.
• Knowledge or desire to gain knowledge of mortgage and closing documents and federal and state mortgage lending regulations including (ECOA, TILA and RESPA)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with individuals and families across various cultural, financial and religious backgrounds
• Knowledge of Community Land Trust model a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Work Schedule

Approximately 2 hours/week.
