The Mission of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is to improve food security through equitable access to good nutrition and the resources that support health and well-being.
The Health Initiatives Coordinator (HIC) provides implementation and administrative support for health partners and nutrition programs to advance Food Is Medicine efforts in the Food Bank service area. This role is responsible for health and nutrition data collection and management, program activity tracking, and partner resource-sharing. The HIC collaborates with the Manager of Health Initiatives (MoHI) on health-related evaluation implementation, partner training, and partner resource enhancements.
Skills Required
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 1-year relevant work, professional, or volunteer role experience in data collection, program implementation, and/or program evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health/nutrition education, or related field, or equivalent amount of relevant training and experience.
• Excellent organization and time management skills to coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects while maintaining accuracy.
• Effectively use computer programs including database management, spreadsheet, and word processing skills and knowledge of Microsoft products including, e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Nonprofit experience desirable.
• Travel (approximately up to 20%) during regular work hours within our service area for partners and team purposes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

This is an on-site role based either in our headquarters in Verona, VA or in our Eastern region in Charlottesville, VA and reports to the Manager of Health Initiatives.
