Description
Blue Ridge CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children, is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. Blue Ridge CASA operates in Harrisonburg, Rockingham, Staunton, Augusta, Waynesboro and Lexington, Rockbridge, Buena Vista, and has plans to expand to Shenandoah and Page Counties.
The Grants Manager is responsible for the organization’s overall grant efforts: grant writing, reporting, and management; identifying new sources of funding, and developing a sustainable and effective grants program.
Job Duties
+ Responsibilities and Duties
- Researching funding opportunities
- Optimizing the grant administration process
- Ensuring compliance with grant regulations
- Managing timelines and deliverables
- Writing and submitting grant proposals
- Managing grant databases
- Submitting requests for payment
- Tracking grant applications
- Timely grant reporting
- Acknowledging grantors
- Educating staff on grant policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensuring supplanting does not occur

- 3+ years of successful grant writing experience
- 2+ years of grant management experience
Work Schedule
Blue Ridge CASA staff work 32+ hours/week, with core hours of 10-3, Monday-Friday. Evenings and weekends are occasionally required. Blue Ridge CASA has a work where you are policy and also provides an office for this position at our Staunton location.
Additional Info
Travel requirements: Local travel is required and reimbursed.
Special conditions or requirements: DMV, central registry, and background checks are required.

+ Evaluation and Review
- An Evaluation is completed 90 days from the date of employment.
- All employees receive an Annual Performance Appraisal in June.
Hiring Timeline:
