Contribute to the delivery of the Department of Public Works mission in providing professional public works services to manage natural and built systems, and foster community health, safety, and sustainability. The preferred hiring amount is between $92,108.00 – $115,134.39 Annually. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, exempt, position which provides excellent benefits including 13 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, City’s retirement options, gym membership reimbursement (up to $34 a month), tuition reimbursement (up to $3,000 per fiscal year), and continuing education/training opportunities.

The Fleet Manager performs technical and administrative work overseeing the operation and maintenance of the City Fleet Division including directing and coordinating the repair, preventative maintenance, and/or acquisition of the City’s fleet facilities, motor vehicles and equipment. This position is also responsible for supporting implementation of the City’s Climate Action Plan by working to build a sustainable green fleet.

This position is responsible for the supervision of Fleet Division personnel. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed as leader or director with broad functional areas and more expertise and strategic focus. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Public Works Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent and at least 7 years of professional work experience in fleet management OR
  • Trade school certificate or Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of professional work experience in fleet management OR
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 3 years of professional work experience in fleet management

Special Requirements:

  • Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP), or ability to earn within one (1) year of employment.
