Description
The Financial Management Program (FMP) Coordinator position is a full-time professional position responsible for managing the continued growth of the program, ensuring efficient processing of FMP inquiry requests, and clear communication with the participants, partners and FMP coaches.The coordinator works directly with entrepreneurs to help them develop record-keeping skills and habits.The ideal candidate will have a flair for networking, recruitment, and coordination, and be very comfortable utilizing and teaching the use of spreadsheets.The Financial Management Coordinator reports to CIC’s Director of Programs and as a member of the programs team will have the opportunity support several CIC programs.
Job Duties
Within the limits of the CIC’s programs, policies, procedures, and budget, the Financial Management Coordinator is responsible for and has authority to perform the duties listed below:
Program Coordination:
- Participates in weekly Programs Meeting/Mid-week check in’s
- Coordinate the financial management program, including client intake, management, evaluation
- Set up monthly metrics meetings with FMP Coaches
- Manage sensitive data in a confidential manner
- Performs weekly audit and financial forecasts for businesses in the program
- Support other CIC programs as needed
Technical Assistance
- Coach entrepreneurs on business financial management, helping to improve record keeping habits and routines
- Provide client navigation services to help entrepreneurs navigate service offerings to improve their skills and decision making
Community Outreach
- Conduct community outreach and recruitment of new clients
- Assist and conduct one-on-one, or group orientation sessions for entrepreneur programs
- Provide financial planning and/or financial counseling workshops
Skills Required
C. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Desire and ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and serve others
- Strong organizational, writing, and oral communications skills; and possess a high attention to detail
- Familiarity with community development, financial services, banking/lending terminology including understanding financial planning basics
- Have an interest in finance and/or financial education
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (some night and weekends may be required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Office) and Google Suite and ability to use/learn Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce) and loan service software
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to clients and volunteers.
D. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as an entrepreneur, owning a business, or working for a startup business
- Personal or professional connection to financial advising
- Mastery of financial terms and understanding of the complexities
- Knowledge of entrepreneurial life cycle and how businesses work
- Financial certifications, licensures or other forms of financial expertise
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM is typical schedule. Some night and weekends may be required.
