Whole Woman’s Health is looking for a Temporary Finance Associate to perform general accounting work including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, preparations for audit, and supporting the budget and forecasting activities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with a 501c3 non-profit organization as well as have a working knowledge of GAAP.

Job Duties

Audit, Financial Reporting, Budgeting
o Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
o Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly and year end close.
o Compile financial statements and projections.
o Maintain balance sheet schedules for the appropriate accounts.
o Develop the annual budget with the Managing Director and maintain working budget.
o Maintain cost allocation spreadsheet for all agency funding streams.
o Work to complete year end process, financial statements, and Forms 990 and 199.

Grant Reporting, Contracts, and Billing

o Analyze monthly grant profit and loss statements.
o Prepare Grant billings and reporting.
o Review Grant contracts for compliance.
o Prepare Grant budgets and budget narratives.

Skills Required

Experience and General Requirements
All candidates should have proven accounting knowledge. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
o Commitment to reproductive and social justice and the Whole Woman’s Health mission;
o BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting;
o At least 2 years of experience in financial reporting/general ledger area;
o Working knowledge of GAAP;
o Proven experience working with c3 non-profit organizations;
o Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines;
o Excellence in organizational skills, verbal and written communication;
o Excellent computer skills;
o A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards;
o Self-directed and works well in a diverse, dynamic, fast-paced team environment.


Physical Requirements

Must possess the ability and capability to perform any task in the office. Must be able to lift 15 lbs or more, be able to physically move through the office unaided, and have excellent visual and hearing acuity.
