Job title: Executive Director/Account Executive
Functional area: Leadership, financial oversight, fundraising, counsel, and direction to Client Boards and membership
Reports to: CMG Principals/Client Boards
Assists/Coordinates with: CMG Staff and Client Boards, Committees, and Membership
Summary
Position oversees or collaborates on all governance, programming, day-to-day activities, and procedures for the Client and acts as the primary point of contact with client leadership.
Essential Job Functions
1. Review, monitor, and maintain all financial records associated with accounts payable and receivable, sign checks and authorize non-check payments, work with the Accountant to provide timely financial accountings for Board review, and ensure preparation of financial records for annual audit/review.
2. In cooperation with the Accountant, Treasurer, and/or Finance Committee, develop, recommend, monitor, and operate within an approved annual budget.
3. Ensure transfer of funds, in accordance with written policy, between checking and investment accounts, when applicable.
4. Sign and execute contracts and commitments with authorization of the Board.
5. Ensure the appropriate insurance policies are held for the Client.
6. Ensure secure, confidential maintenance of accurate financial and membership information, legal and historic documents, and other databases.
7. Ensure proper management, maintenance, and control over a central archive for all Client records and documents (paper and electronic files) as directed by the Board.
8. Represent the Client with Accountant, Lawyer, and other business professionals as necessary, to manage the financial and routine business matters associated with maintaining the Client’s nonprofit tax status.
9. Staff and support the activities of the Board and Committees, as directed, including arranging for meetings, providing notice, and participating in meetings in person and virtually, and recording and maintaining official minutes as directed by the Secretary.
10. Assist the Board in the development and execution of the Client’s strategic plan.
11. Plan, formulate, and recommend for the approval of the Board policies and programs that will further the objectives of the Client.
12. Ensure that the Board and Committees comply with pertinent policies and procedures.
13. Ensure that the Board, Executive Committee, and Committee chairs are kept fully informed of the activities, conditions, and operations of the association, and of all important factors influencing the organization.
14. Represent the Client, as directed by the Board, with affiliated organizations for the purpose of ensuring a positive image of the Client within related fields.
15. Assist with fundraising campaigns and sponsorship solicitations.
16. Implement decisions made by the Board on behalf of the Client membership.
17. Represent and communicate the interests and activities of the Client to members and prospective members through newsletters, general mailings, ballots, social media, and surveys.
18. Promote interest and active member and committee participation in the Client’s activities and report on such activities to the Board as appropriate.
19. Oversee production of Client publications, including journals, newsletters, brochures, and directories.
20. Oversee membership promotion and retention programs, evaluate results, and recommend policies, procedures, and actions to achieve member goals.
21. Oversee the planning, promotion, and administration of all official Client meetings.
22. Serve as the “team leader,” coordinating and working with all Client support staff, such as the accountant, program director, publications and web support, conference director, membership services, and others.
23. Serve as the primary liaison between the Client and CMG.
24. Review and submit Client invoices for CMG services.
25. Seek to continually upgrade skills for the effective management of the Client.

Experience

Work Schedule
Position requires a hybrid schedule – some in office, some remote days.

2. Salary Range: $82,000-$87,000 (commensurate with experience)
