Description
The Charlottesville Climate Collaborative (C3) is a young and strongly positioned nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which aims to catalyze climate action through coordinated, sector-specific programs that reduce climate pollution and expand the identities of Charlottesville and Albemarle County to include climate leadership. C3 is entering a period of growth and expansion.
C3 is seeking to hire an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Executive Director to lead and grow the organization. The Executive Director will hold responsibility for all aspects of the organization and will be supported by an active, working Board of Directors which is willing to help advance key initiatives as C3 grows.
Job Duties
- Develop and lead the execution of C3’s strategic goals created in partnership with the board
- Develop and advance C3’s role as convener of climate action and collaboration in the Charlottesville Community
- Lead the development and execution of a fundraising strategy to support the work of the organization
- Recruit, lead, and manage the C3 staff
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the City of Charlottesville, County of Albemarle, and the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Oversee the development and advancement of sector-specific programs which expand climate action in the Charlottesville Area
- Oversee the development of marketing and branding for C3 and related programs
- Oversee and guide the development of C3’s human resource infrastructure and policies
- Oversee and guide the development of C3’s financial operations including budgeting, fundraising goals, and third-party audit provision.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Address other necessary roles as assigned.
Skills Required
- College degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Five+ years experience in senior management roles
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans
- Demonstrated understanding of financial management
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Passion for local climate action
Work Schedule
Generally, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, but may be adjustable.
Some evening and weekend engagements may be needed.
