Description

The Albemarle County Police Foundation seeks a new Executive Director. The Albemarle County Police Foundation promotes public safety by supporting our Police Department in its
efforts to be a professional, highly educated and trained organization, equipped to prevent crime and enhance the overall safety of our community. The Executive Director (ED) will coordinate all the activities of the Foundation and serve as primary point of contact for the Foundation.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

– Event Planning and Management. The Foundation plans four major events per year with smaller activities interspersed between them. A successful candidate will be able to show a desire to plan and execute events as well as experience doing so in the past.
– Fundraising. In conjunction with the Foundation Board, the ED will facilitate raising money to support the activities of the Foundation. This will include, but not be limited to: direct mail, donor cultivation and maintenance, coordinating the Board’s efforts to identify new donors, and written fundraising communication.
– Create all external marketing documents. This will include, but not be limited to, biannual physical newsletters, social media accounts, website maintenance, and e-newsletters.
– Manage the day to day operations of the Foundation. The ED will build relationships across the Police Department, Board, and community that allows him/her to successfully execute the mission of the Foundation. The ED will also manage the Board subcommittees focused on Housing Assistance, Scholarships, etc.
– Other responsibilities as they arise. We are a growing organization looking to support our community. We’re looking to engage creative, forward thinking people, and who

This position is part time (20 hours per week) with nights and weekend work required on occasion. Other than set meetings and events, work can be completed on your own schedule. Compensation commensurate with experience. Skills required: attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, Microsoft Office, basic budgeting, honesty, integrity, and creativity.
