Sin Barreras, a nonprofit with offices in Charlottesville and Waynesboro that supports the Latino immigrant community in Central Virginia, is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative Executive Director (ED).

Job Duties
The ED will be responsible for the overall success of Sin Barreras in implementing and supporting programs and services that primarily serve the Latino immigrant community in Central Virginia. The ED will:
– Manage the staff and contractors, including mentoring and developing employees, hiring as needed and terminating if necessary, and developing staff policies;
– Provide the operational know-how, management, and leadership to bring ideas to fruition;
– Help standardize workflows and other processes within the organization;
– Work in partnership with the Board of Directors;
– Build relationships and operational processes to bolster philanthropic giving and community partnerships;
– Be or become knowledgeable about the challenges facing the local Latino/immigrant community and be comfortable representing the organization.
Skills Required
– Significant staff leadership and management experience;
– Able to comfortably speak and read English and Spanish;
– Comfortable working with budgets, financial management, and reporting;
– Integrity, creativity, empathy, and the ability to lead and inspire action.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time role and regular evening hours may be required. The Executive Director must be able to spend time in both the Charlottesville and Waynesboro offices.

Since our founding in 2012, Sin Barreras has steadily expanded its scope of activities, which include:
– Immigration and citizenship services;
– Educational and community workshops, including English Language training;
– Hosting events with the Mexican, Guatemalan, and Honduran consulates;
– Leadership Development;
– Advocacy with local and state governments.
In 2023, our dedicated staff and volunteers provided direct services to over 6300 people and indirect services to 6100 more. We currently have 3 full-time and 4 part-time employees.
