The EMS Medical Supply Technician performs responsible work maintaining, monitoring, and handling the day-to-day stocking and dispensing of the Charlottesville Fire Department’s emergency medical care pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Works under the direct supervision of and reports to the EMS Battalion Chief.

The preferred hiring range for this position is between $23.42 – $28.20 Hourly ($48,713.60 – $58,656.00 Annually). The City of Charlottesville manages its own retirement system and does not participate in VRS, however the City has a Portability Agreement with VRS and there are certain provisions that must be met. Education and Experience: Candidates may qualify by demonstrating the required knowledge and skills outlined for the job through experience(s) other than formal education.

High School Diploma or GED AND at least 1 year of relevant experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above.

Certifications/Licenses/Other Requirements:
Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
CPhT credential through National Health career Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license and acceptable driving record according to City’s criteria.
Required to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug screen.
