Description

Reporting to the Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Relations Manager has primary responsibility for managing the next-generation philanthropy program and developing quality events and activities that support and facilitate philanthropy for people in their 20s, 30s & 40s. This includes all current Future Fund activities, ensuring member satisfaction, and building a quality and engaging philanthropy experience. More broadly, the Donor Relations Manager provides primary support to the Director of Donor Engagement to develop and execute Foundation strategies and programs for cultivating and retaining ‘next-generation’ givers.

Skills Required

The Donor Relations Manager is a creative thinker with natural strategic skills. S/he is comfortable interacting with people in their 20s, 30s and 40s and can communicate effectively with them. With a strong philanthropic understanding, s/he is always searching for ways to optimize the current Future Fund programs while developing other philanthropic programs and activities to facilitate philanthropy, drawing upon a wide range of community resources and best practice examples. S/he has a ‘customer-service’ orientation and actively seeks regular feedback to engage and solicit ideas, and ensure their satisfaction. With excellent organizational, interpersonal skills together with strong written and oral communication skills, s/he can research and present ideas, and prepare presentations and reports on program activities. S/he can work harmoniously and effectively as part of a team.

  • Planning and delivery of next-generation programs and activities, enlisting the support of the Foundation Board and staff members and of community, philanthropy and nonprofit leaders as needed
  • Managing Future Fund program through the delivery of quality philanthropic experiences that drive engagement.
  • Develop next-generation engagement strategies and activities through market research of philanthropists and program in the local and broader community
  • Develop new programs and activities, or to improve existing ones
  • Building and maintaining external communications, through multiple channels, with potential and existing Future Fund members, Foundation partners and the wider community
  • Reporting internally on next-generation status and activities
  • Cultivating and deploying “next-generation ‘champions’ in the community
  • Managing advisory groups and acting upon their guidance and direction
  • Supporting the Director of Donor Engagement on ‘next-generation’ giving strategies
  • Managing and delivery of the Youth Services Award program
  • Supporting the Director of Donor Engagement to ensure next-generation participation in Foundation events and philanthropy program activities
  • Supporting the President and CEO to tailor Foundations overall communications to ‘next-generation’ audiences, working directly with communications partners as needed
