Description

Director of Regional Development
National Brain Tumor Society

Newton, Massachusetts Headquarters
Remote Position / Washington DC, Maryland, Virgina (DMV)

The Moran Company is pleased to partner with the National Brain Tumor Society to recruit the organization’s next Director of Regional Development.
Organization Background

The National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes and unites the community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments and advocate for patients and their care partners. NBTS is a leading policy advocacy and research organization as well as a convener of brain tumor research leaders including industry, regulators, funders, clinician researchers and patient advocates. The organization also delivers timely information and support to patients and families. Through collaborative leadership with partners, the organization’s results include increased federal funding for brain tumor research, improved clinical trials, the enactment of the most comprehensive childhood cancer law in decades, and improved clinical trial education.

While NBTS has seen significant progress in terms of scientific understanding of brain tumor biology, the organization remains unsatisfied with the status quo of today’s treatment options. NBTS is committed to investment in new ideas and research poised to incent the development and realization of treatments that dramatically increase survival and quality of life for patients.

Building on over 30 years of experience, NBTS is the largest patient advocacy organization in the United States committed to curing brain tumors and improving the lives of patients and families. In 2022, the organization helped in securing over $48 million in new brain tumor research funding. Through its interconnected programmatic strategies, NBTS made a significant impact during 2022 through a three-pronged approach involving:

DEFEAT – NBTS drives and influences best-in-class medical research to develop and deliver longer survival, better quality of life, and ultimately cures through new innovative treatments for patients with a brain tumor as quickly as possible.
CONNECT – NBTS convenes, educates, and unites the brain tumor community.
CHANGE – NBTS fuels the voice and power of the brain tumor community to advocate, elevate the organization’s mission, and influence public policy.
