This is an opportunity to combine your strategic thinking, storytelling talent, and digital expertise to elevate RPAA’s visibility and impact. You’ll lead organization-wide marketing, branding, communications, and public relations initiatives—working collaboratively across departments to drive participation, partnerships, and revenue.

If you thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment and love transforming ideas into action, this role offers the chance to make a lasting mark on a well-known community arts institution.

● Lead the creation of high-quality print and digital collateral, including brochures, annual reports, newsletters, and presentations.
● Manage advertising campaigns (digital, TV, print, radio, and social) to maximize visibility and ROI.
● Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to align marketing goals with strategic priorities and budgets.
● Oversee media relations, including press releases, pitches, and responses, cultivating positive relationships with local and regional media outlets.
● Manage relationships with vendors and contractors (printers, photographers, freelancers, etc.).

Data, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
● Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics for campaigns, email marketing, social media, and website engagement.
● Leverage data to refine messaging and optimize outreach efforts across platforms.
● Monitor marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective and results-driven strategies.

Collaboration & Community Engagement
● Partner with colleagues across Education, Development, and Programming to advance shared goals and deliver cohesive, mission-aligned communications.
● Participate in RPAA events and community gatherings to represent the organization and build relationships with partners, patrons, and media.
● Serve as a creative thought partner within a collaborative, passionate team dedicated to creating a vibrant performing arts community in the Richmond region.

Skills Required

● At least five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (nonprofit experience preferred).
● Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
● Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with proven success in crafting compelling, audience-centered content.
