Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge (WCBR) is looking for a Director of Dining Services to join our team! A director who can lead by example, a staff of 60 team members and has experience with high volume catering services. WCBR is partnered with Flik Hospitality and this position would be a member of their team.
WCBR is a Continuing Care Retirement Community offering a full continuum of on-site long-term care in Charlottesville, VA. We offer independent living in our cottages and apartments, assisted living, health care and a memory support unit.
At WCBR, we use local, fresh ingredients to produce food for our 4 restaurant and dining venues. These venues include formal dining, casual dining, an upscale bar, a marketplace, along with healthcare and assisted living dining rooms. We also host holiday and special/VIP events.

Responsibilities

    • Direct, coordinate and administer the activities of the Food Services department ensuring that quality and accurate meal service is provided to residents, guests and staff.
    • Develop and submit budgetary recommendations, oversees appropriate allocation and expenditures for the department operating on a $4 million departmental budget.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Member of the Senior Staff
    • Perform Administrator-On-Call duties as assigned

Qualifications

    • Experience in dining services management in hospitality, senior living environment preferred but not required.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
    • High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.

Requirements

    • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
    • Minimum five or more years’ experience working as a supervisor in the food service industry.
