Description

Service Dogs of Virginia is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises, trains, and places service dogs with individuals with disabilities who live in Virginia and is fully accredited by Assistance Dogs International. SDV began in 2000 and has placed over 150 assistance and facility dogs in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We do not charge our clients for their dog and the support we receive from individuals, foundations, businesses, and the community is critical to helping us realize our mission. SDV receives no support from the government and service dogs are not covered by medical insurance.

We are seeking a skilled full-time Director of Development to ensure we have the financial resources needed to fulfill our mission. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board, the Director of Development oversees all aspects of fundraising to grow a sustainable philanthropic revenue base. In addition to supporting an annual budget of $1MM, SDV plans to conduct a capital campaign in the coming years. The salary is $80,000 but negotiable depending on experience.

Applicants should provide a cover letter, resume, and a writing sample to Peggy Law, P. O. Box 408, Charlottesville, VA 22902 or peggylaw@servicedogsva.org. No phone calls, please.
