Overview
C3 seeks a visionary and highly motivated, full-time Director of Climate Policy. The Director of Climate Policy leads one of the key components of our organization, and the successful candidate will join a highly impactful team at a critical juncture. C3 has served the City of Charlottesville and the County of Albemarle for seven years and recently grew to serve the City of Richmond. The Director of Climate Policy will lead our policy team’s transition from a single-city focus to a multi-city strategy and has the opportunity to help shape the long-term vision for the organization.

The Director of Climate Policy, with the support of C3’s two Climate Justice Policy Managers, is responsible for leading the research, development, and implementation of advocacy campaigns for local policy change that directly advances climate action. The Director of Climate Policy will collaborate with other campaign leads and community stakeholders to design, plan, and implement local climate justice solutions that help reduce local greenhouse gas emissions while improving the quality of life for local residents and alleviating disproportionate and unaffordable energy and transportation burdens.

The ideal candidate can build relationships and perform well in various environments, including board rooms of large employers, homes of local residents, County and City staff departments, and convenings of low-income stakeholders and social justice partners.

The Community Climate Collaborative welcomes diversity. Women, people of color, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals are encouraged to apply.
