Description

Lead implementation of Foothills financial management, human resources and information technology strategies; strong emphasis on the organization’s financial functions. Serve as a working leader with a focus on finance, business planning, and budgeting.

Job Duties

Financial Management (primary emphasis)
• Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors; assess and address any changes necessary. Maintain a positive top-tier audit.
• Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process with the CEO; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep the CEO informed of the organization’s financial status.
• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
• Implement a robust repayment management and financial management/reporting system
• Ensure alignment with billing and collection schedule and that finances/cash flow are steady to support operational requirements.
• Update and improve the finance policy and procedure manual in conjunction with CEO and Finance Committee, as needed
• Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the CEO.
• Serve as a good steward of the organization’s finances.

Infrastructure Management:
• Facilitate new employee and contractor onboarding, including verification of employment eligibility and/or other necessary paperwork.
• Create and maintain employee files including personnel records, performance evaluations and background checks, driver’s license and vehicle registration.
• Create and maintain accurate timesheets; maintain record of leave time for staff.
• Serve as the Group Administrator for employee benefit accounts such as IRAs, health insurance and other employee benefits.
• Aim to maintain compliance with FCAC personnel policies in addition to local, state, and federal employment laws; complete Board of Directors’ background check process.
• Maintain all organizational records, policies, and procedures in an organized manner.
• Oversee administrative functions and facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Technology and Administration:
• Work with Foothills staff to identify, implement and monitor technology needs.

Skills Required

3 years’ experience in nonprofit finance, accounting or related field; track record of grants management; Microsoft Office proficiency and. QuickBooks Online. HR and IT operational functions experience preferred.

Work Schedule

24 hours a week, M-F with an occasional evening/weekend. Working from home part of the time is possible.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

Other Requirements:
Evening and weekend hours as required. Must be willing to work flexible hours, have access to a vehicle; possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; submit to thorough pre-employment criminal and child abuse background checks initially and every three years thereafter and demonstrate proof of legal ability to work in the United States.
