Description

The Development Manager is responsible for donor and prospect relationship management support. The Manager supports the President, VP of Community Engagement, and volunteers to help with all areas of fundraising and donor stewardship.

Job Duties

  • Work with Donor Relations Manager to create and provide timely reports and donor data to support fundraising efforts
  • Research donor prospects (individual, foundation, corporate) and create donor profiles
  • Schedule and prepare President, VP for Community Engagement, and/or Campaign Volunteers for Prospect Meetings
  • Manage direct mail projects
  • Work with Donor Relations Manager on acknowledgement process, creating maximum donor stewardship and efficiencies where appropriate (includes assisting with mailings)
  • Assist VP of Community Engagement with management of development/ marketing/ engagement events (manage attendance, work with vendors, etc.)
  • Serve as resource for donors and volunteers, providing timely information, etc. as needed
  • Serve as passionate ambassador for the United Way and its mission
  • Other duties as required to meet the needs of the organization

Skills Required

  • Minimum of one year of nonprofit fundraising and/or marketing experience
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must use tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, clients, volunteers, and visitors
  • Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm
  • Must attend all mandatory meetings and specified training sessions
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Comfortable communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders: board members, donors, non-profit organizations, vendors, clients, volunteers, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team setting
  • Ability to attend some events/meetings on evenings and/or weekends

Work Schedule

M-F 8:30am-5pm, with a one hour lunch break.

This is a stationary position – requires minimal lifting (less than 50 lbs.) and sitting over 50% of the time.
